Tell me a little about yourself…
My name is James Jeffries. I’m a Scorpio from the Atlanta, GA area. I paint with acrylics on canvas, wood, and clothing.
How’d you get started, or what prompted you to begin crafting in your genre?
I got started painting on clothing for fashion shows in college. That led to a painted clothing business. I eventually began using my style on canvas.
How long have you been an artist? When did you first discover your artistic ability?
I started painting on clothes at 18. Almost 10 yrs ago. I started painting on canvas about 3 years ago. I had no idea I had a passion for art until I went to college.

What do you think sets you apart from other artists?
My style sets me apart from other artists. I’m purely self taught. My origins were in abstract painted clothing so I have an urban style and use unique techniques.
What do you get out of being an artist?
As an artist I get to express ideas literal and abstract. It’s fun to create.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Life inspires me. The mantra “love, passion, eternity” is written in all my paintings and the poetry I wrote behind it has a message about the potential of humanity.
What do others seem to love about your art, as far as feedback you have gotten?
People really enjoy my use of color the most.
What is your advice to fellow artists?
I say have your own style. Find your niche. And follow your heart.
How would you describe your style, or form of artistry?
I call my style “urban tribal”. It originates in urban painted clothing and has tribal and African influences.
Do you have any future plans for your artwork?
My plans are to be featured in as many places as possible.
