Tell me a little about yourself…
My name is Laura Y. Slade (recently married). I live in Columbia, SC. I design beaded jewelry and wood burned bangles and earrings.
How’d you get started, or what prompted you to begin crafting in your genre?
I learned how to wood burn in the 7th grade in California, and growing up in a home with my father who built furniture. I loved the smell of wood always when I went with my Dad to home depot and Lowes, so later in life I started burning wood again. And the beaded jewelry came from my love of natural stones…beautiful.
